Hello! Welcome to my Teaching Blog!

My name is Megan Syed and I am a master teacher at Detroit Public Schools Community District. After receiving my MA in Educational Psychology, I decided to pursue an additional MA in English Language Learning (PreK-12). I have been teaching ESL students for nine years and couldn't imagine doing anything else. I am dedicated to teaching in ways that promote creativity, joy, innovation, and set high expectations for all students. My passion is using room transformations and music to drive engagement in my classroom as well as creating resources for other educators on my Teachers Pay Teachers website. Additionally, I was chosen as Teacher of the Year for two consecutive years and recently, I have been featured in NWEAs most recent article on What to Do AFTER Winter Testing? 5 Tips from Teachers.
